shall I root my phone?
I think anyone, if you are possessor of an android smartphone, hear about Root or Rooting. What is root or rooting?
Android is basically Linux.
Rooting your phone means giving yourself root, administrator access, giving you access to system files and the ability to change things that normally are marked read only. Root gives you full control to your smartphone like you are in full control of your PC.
But is that good or bad?
What is root
Having a rooted android device is like being an administrator and not being rooted is like being a normal user.
When you root your phone you can change things like user interface, boot screen, and install powerful programs that need root access to run lie system back up or even customized rooms.
So with root, you can add, own, edit, delete, any file on the system, and control who else (what other user id's) have access to what files (programs, apps, functions).
From my experience now, I had all top devices in past 2 years and rooted all of them.
If you Root, you can do anything you like to your phone if you know what you are doing.
And Of course you are losing warranty.
Root is good as long as you stay away from ROM-ing. If you start installing custom ROMs, first, you will risk a lot bricking your phone, and second, you will only realise that after all, the stock ROM that was at the beginning in your phone, is always better and more stable....
After I Rooted a lot of devices and installed all possible and impossible ROMs, I always returned (always always no exception) to stock ROMs.
So if you want to Root your phone just for Custom ROMs, better don't do it! It's waste of time.
There are no better ROMs then stock, there are not ROMs with better battery life then stock on any device ever. There are only more beautiful ROMs.
But when someone will call you and the phone is not unlocking or is stuck on black screen, you will not need beautiful any more.
